Trimsaran 51-17 New Dock Stars

Trimsaran welcomed local rivals New Dock Stars to Caeffair last weekend. As always it was expected to be a close hard contested game, Dock may have lost their first 3 agmes of the season but it was them who took the lead early on after a rolling maul and a couple of forward drives got them over the line for a debateable try as it seemed trim had 2 pairs of hands under the ball but the ref had awarded the try. This give Trim some life and although Dan Griffiths missed with his first shot on goal it wasnt long before Trim crossed for their first try after some great work from scrum half Ioan Jones set Trim up for their first try. Dock hit back immediately with a penalty and this also seen Yogi Bach yellow carded. Dock were in the lead once again 10-7. The first 20 showed that Dock were going to make Trim work for everything. Trim levelled the scores at 10-10 and then a quickfire double just before half time left Trim leading 20-10 at the break.

The second half seen Trim score some great tries with fantastic play between forwards and backs. The green and blacks run away with the game and scored 8 tries in all to win the game by 51-17 as Dock scored a late penalty try before Trim grabbed another with the last play of the game and moved up to joint 2nd in the table having won their first 4 games of the season.

After the struggles of losing our first 7 games last season it is nice to see the boys clicking and playing some good rugby.

Next up we take a break from league action and welcome Laugharne in the National Bowl 2nd round at Caeffair on Saturday 6th October.
