Bynea 22-17 Trimsaran

Last weekend Trim made the short journey to Bynea looking to correct the wrongs after losing to the same opposition 3 weeks ago 29-8.

Bynea were dominant for much of the first half with their big pack dictating things and winning penalties from scrums and getting into some key areas on the field to allow Bynea to constantly put Tirm under pressure. Trim had the odd attack but much of the first half was spent defending and the green and blacks did defend well for the most of it going in at the break 12-0 down but once again penalties seemed to be costing Trim big style as after 15 minutes of the first half back rower Kim Evans received a yellow card for his teams continuous penatlies.

The second half kicked off and a mistake from the kick off allowed Bynea again to have possession but some strong defence allowed Trim to clear their lines. Trim had an oppurtunity to score their irst try of the game when a break from Dan Griffiths had Trim on the front foot and Ioan Jones was unlucky to just lose the ball as he went for the try line. For the next 20 minutes it was once again Bynea who dictated the game and crossed for 2 more tries to secure their bonus point and take a 22-0 lead. For some reason , as it has done all season this give Trim some life, being 4 tries behind  and now Trim started to play and dictate the game, it was 22-0 with 10 minutes remaining but Trim were on the front foot and scored 3 quick tries through Dan Griffiths, Ryan Edwards and Thomas Bonnell to bring the score to 22-17.. Trim would have been hoping there was some time left so they would have had the chance to go for the win as Byneas big pack were tiring and Trim finally showed they could attack from deep but the ref blew his whistle and they had to settle for yet another losing bonus point.

Bynea were deserved winners after dictating much of the game and starving Trim of possession which shows why they are 2nd in the league but the visitors showed that if they keep their discipline and keep the ball then they can be dangerous. If it all clicks for the full 80 minutes then the boys will be picking up some positive results in the last few weeks of the season
