Trimsaran travelled to Betws last weekend looking to continue some good form after  a good BP victory over Penybanc the weekend before.

Once again as has been the case almost every weekend this season it rained all through the night and morning so the field was quite heavy underfoot and had patches of water appearing throughout the game.

Trimsaran kicked off and were immediatley on the back foot when the ref penalised the visitors. With conditions not the best the green and blacks indiscipline seemed to be costing them as over again they give Betws key field position. This allowed Betws to take a 6-0 lead. Trim hit bakc with a penalty of their own but again it was Betws who controlled the rest of the first half and put the pressure on the Trim try line, Strong defence held the home team out and after opting for a 5 metre lineout Trim held of the driving maul and managed to turn the ball over only for another penalty to go against them on the stroke of half time to allow Betws to take a 9-3 lead at the break.

Betws kicked the 2nd half off and within 3 minutes of the restart they had the games first try when a break through the middle of the field from halfway led to them getting over the line, with the conversion successful it left Betws with a commanding lead at 16-3.

As has happened alot this season , being behind so far brought the green and blacks to life and the forwards started to control the ball better but some silly mistakes were letting the visitors down. Betws themselves started tp get on the wrong side of the ref and 2 penalties within the space of 10 minutes brought Trim back to 16-9 with 5 minutes left Trim would have been confident of getting atleast a draw.

A knock on in midfield however give Betws a scrum on halfway which allowed them to kill the clock down as the scrum was restarted 3 times before the ref give Trim a penalty with the last play of the game. Going through the phases with their forwards Trim made 20 yards but knocked the ball on to give Betws the victory by 16-9 which left trim with a losing bonus point from the game.

Although the conditions wernt the best with the field being heavy and the constant drizzle throughout the game, Trim will be disappointed with only getting a Losing bonus point after the victory against Penybanc. This weekend we travel to Bynea
