Trimsaran visited Bynea looking to cement 3rd place in the league. Trim won the corresponding fixture 27-12 in Trim earlier this season. In atrocious conditions the game wasn't much of a spectacle with numerous errors by both teams. Trim scored the first points through a penalty after defending for the opening 15 minutes against a big Bynea outfit who tried to use their size to their advantage . It wasnt long until another penalty was awarded to Trim in a kickable position after Bynea were backchatting to the referee. Bynea were to hit back themselves with a penalty after a sustained period of pressure in the visitors half. The score was 3-6 to the visitors with half time approaching after a few good phases of play with the green and blacks forwards and backs working well together and a strong rolling maul the ball found it's way to winger Tom Williams who touched down for the first try of the game. With the conversion missed it left the half time score 3-11 to Trimsaran.
The rain stopped for kick off of the second half but the wind was still swirling around Bynea. It was a pretty back and forth second half with Trim kicking into the corner well and pinning Bynea deep into their territory. Bynea turned the ball over from a 5 yard scrum and themselves after a few good phases of carrying themselves out of their 22 they kicked the ball to the Trim 22. They managed to win a penalty from this position and kicked the first points of the second half to reduce the gap to 6-11. Trim defended with alot of calon for much of this game against much bigger opponents and their resistence paid off with 10 minutes left when a move which started deep in their own half found winger Dan Griffiths breaking free and backing his speed he kicked the ball forward and registered to score what was the game clinching try. Converting his own try to take his personal tally to 13 points for the game. Bynea did get a consolation try themselves with 2 minutes left. From the resulting kick off Bynea had a chance to snatch a draw as they were awarded a penalty for offside and booted the ball to the Trim 22 but the lineout wasn't straight and scrum half Yogi Bach secured the win by kicking the ball off the field. A dogged performance by the green and blacks in difficult conditions.
